Description from the seller
An exceptional Corsican white wine, signed Clos Canereccia
La Cuvée Sophie Blanc 2020 embodies the excellence of Clos Canereccia estate, located in Aléria on Corsica’s eastern coast. This rare and refined white wine comes from a rigorous parcel selection of three indigenous grape varieties: Vermentino (majority), Biancu Gentile, and Genovese. Grown on pebbly, alluvial, and deep clay soils, these varieties benefit from a Mediterranean climate marked by the influence of the sea and the maquis, giving the wine a saline freshness and a beautiful mineral tension.
A careful élevage for remarkable aromatic complexity
Produced with precise vinification (cold chamber aging, direct pressing, controlled fermentation) and extended aging of more than two years in wooden foudres, the Cuvée Sophie 2020 develops a pale, bright robe, an intense nose of citrus, white flowers, and honey, and a palate that is powerful, rounded, and persistent, subtly woody. This dry white wine offers a fine structure, balanced acidity, and a gourmand, saliva-inducing finish, typical of great Corsican whites for keeping.
Food pairings & aging potential
This gastronomic white wine pairs beautifully with seafood, grilled fish, white meats, Corsican cheeses aged to perfection, or simply as an exceptional aperitif. Thanks to its long élevage and its generous material, Cuvée Sophie Blanc 2020 has a cellaring potential of 5 to 10 years, improving with time to reveal even more complexity and finesse.
