Description from the seller
An authentic late 19th to early 20th-century French faience umbrella-shaped wall pocket (bouquetière) from Desvres, France. It features finely hand-painted polychrome floral motifs, vibrant foliage, and delicate insect details over a tin-glazed earthenware base.
Maker & Markings:
• Factory: Highly characteristic of the celebrated Fourmaintraux workshops.
• Marks: Genuine hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue workshop monogram on the reverse, accompanied by inventory numbers "1" and "6" (or 9).
Details:
• Period: Circa 1890 – 1910 (Belle Époque)
• Dimensions: 36 cm (Height) x 18 cm (Width)
Condition:
Good antique condition with excellent glaze brightness and vivid colors. No structural cracks or restorations. There are a few typical minor glaze chips/flakes on the top handle and one of the upper rims, perfectly normal for period tin-glazed faience of this age (fully documented in the photos).
