Description from the seller

Round carved and marquetry walnut side table – 19th century.

Elegant circular side table, made of solid and veneered walnut.
The top features a radial wood-veneer composition forming a geometric design, bordered by a fine inlaid strip of light-colored wood. The rim is decorated with foliate carvings and a frieze divided into sections by vertical panels.

It rests on a turned central column, ending in a bulbous element carved with acanthus leaves. The base consists of four curved, richly carved legs terminating in stylized zoomorphic feet.

Based on its proportions, decoration, and construction, it belongs to the European historicist furniture of the second half of the 19th century, and is close to French Neo-Renaissance production.
