Oswald Gabelkover’s German medical work *Arztneybuch* was published in 1599 and comprises five parts in one bound volume.
Description from the seller
“Medicine Book. Containing ... Selected and Proven Remedies for Almost All Afflictions and Ailments of the Human Body” 1599.
Rare medical work in 5 parts in one volume by Oswald Gabelkover.
There are several additional blank leaves bound in at the beginning and end, 16 of which at the beginning have been filled with handwriting. In addition, the title-page verso and 4 pages at the end have been written on.
The pages are uniformly somewhat browned and mostly stained brown or by water, somewhat more noticeably in places. Farther back there are heavier water stains and some traces of mold. The last pages are also somewhat worn.
A few pages have mostly light worming in the inner margins, with some loss of characters.
Pages 263–266 in the first part are somewhat more heavily stained. Pages 263/264 have larger tears and minor losses in the text area, as well as a repair at the bottom.
In the second part, page 93 has a minor loss in the margin; it has been repaired, and the piece is loosely enclosed.
The final two pages are missing.
Bound in a later half-leather binding, somewhat rubbed.
Collation: 6 leaves, 424 pages, 1 leaf, 432 (of 434) pages
Dimensions: 20 x 16 cm
