Rui Manuel César Costa, known simply as Rui Costa (Lisbon, 29 March 1972), is a sports manager and former Portuguese footballer (midfielder), sporting director of Benfica.

Nicknamed "The Maestro", he is considered one of the best Portuguese and European footballers of all time. During his career, spent between Benfica, Fiorentina and Milan, he won a Portuguese Cup, a Portuguese League, three Italian Cups, two Italian Super Cups, an Italian League, a UEFA Champions League and a UEFA Super Cup.

With the Portuguese national team he participated in three European Championships (1996, 2000 and 2004) and in a World Cup (2002), collecting 94 appearances and 26 goals.
