One volume from the heyday of this famous French satirical magazine. 
The 7th volume, complete in 51 issues (no. 322, 5 January 1901 to no. 373, 28 December 1901), with beautiful title pages, numerous text illustrations, supplements and various advertisements. It provides a good portrait of the political, cultural and artistic life in France at the beginning of the 20th century.
The book is in good condition. The magazines are loose in the binding, some pages are loose, no major damage, see pictures.

Le Rire (1894-1971) was the most successful of all French satirical journals at the beginning of the 20th century. The satirical journal was filled with excellent drawings by prominent artists such as Steinlen, Toulouse Lautrec, Goursat, Willette, Forain, Capiello, Hermann-Paul and Guillaume.
During the music hall era, cabarets and cafes were crowded with personalities and Parisians could catch glimpses of the stars of the day. Le Rire was there to capture scene for its readers. Its pages depicted the likes of Yvette Guilbert, Polaire, Jane Avril and Réjane.
The journal featured full-page chromotypographs on both covers and in the centrefold. Many of these pieces are now highly desirable collectibles.
