Ben Frost (1975) - Prescription Smurfette

Ben Frost - Prescription Smurfette, 2023. Acrylic on Pharmaceutical Package.

Ben Frost’s irreverent prints satirize contemporary culture. Frost redesigns prescription drug packaging with images of well-known cartoon characters and overlays familiar iconography. In this case, a pharmaceutical package of Endone, an extremely powerful painkiller is overlaid with a depiction of a happy smiley waving Surffette. This art piece is a art framer's dream come true. Brilliant!

The Australian artist has exhibited in London, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore, Berlin, and Miami, and he has collaborated with fashion designers and brands including Moschino and Carolina Herrera.
