Sometimes it feels as if something heavy is weighing on us. As if dark areas have piled up and would suffocate the glow underneath. "Blockade" tells of exactly this moment – the feeling of being stuck, seeing no passage, no clear path.

And yet there is this blue.

It breaks through the cracks, shimmers between the black layers, breathes under the pressure. It is not loud, not intrusive – but unmistakable. Like a thought that cannot be suppressed. Like hope that refuses to disappear.

The black shapes act like barriers, like shields or obstacles – perhaps imposed from outside, perhaps self-imposed. They overlap, conceal, control. But they are not complete. They cannot swallow the glow entirely.

"Blockade" is not stagnation. It is tension. It is the struggle between tightness and openness, between darkness and inner light. A painting about resilience – about how something in us continues to glow even under pressure.
