Jef Aérosol (born in Nantes in 1957, lives and works in Lille since 1984) is a French stencil artist of international renown who was one of the founding artists of street art in France, long before Banksy picked up a spray can in Bristol.
It was on the walls of the streets of Tours that he laid his first stencils in 1982.
Since then, he has been crisscrossing the cities of the world and pasting or spray painting portraits of iconic personalities as well as anonymous people of all styles and ages.
