Ten-volume collection of the early nineteenth-century German encyclopaedia “Allgemeines deutsches Sach-Wörterbuch aller menschlichen Kenntnisse und Fertigkeiten”, begun by Joseph Freiherr von Liechtenstern and continued by Albert Schiffner. Published in Meissen by Friedrich Wilhelm Goedsche. The first volume’s title page is dated 1824.
Includes volumes 1–8, volume 10 and the supplement volume numbered 11. Volume 9 is missing.
Uniform period half-leather bindings with marbled paper boards, gilt spine decoration, pale blue spine labels and red page edges. German text printed in Fraktur in two columns. Volume 1 includes a subscribers’ list.
