Description from the seller
I am selling here a beautifully original (watercolor/gouache/pen drawing) painting, titled: "Absalom" by the renowned painter Mac Zimmermann. The piece is framed under anti-reflective glass and has not been removed, therefore the photos are not 100% sharp or color-accurate. Size with frame: 48.5 x 70 cm.
The painting is signed but not dated. In very good condition.
Mac Zimmermann is regarded as one of the most important German artists of Surrealism / Fantastic Realism.
The memory of Mac Zimmermann's formative influence lives on, for example, in the exhibitions 2009/10 at the Neuen Museum in Weimar (exhibition “Mac Zimmermann and the Phantastic Realism”), 2012 on the occasion of his 100th birthday at the Pommersches Landesmuseum in Greifswald (to which his widow handed over the estate in 2010), and 2018 at the „Kunsthalle Rathaus Galerie München“.}
