Prisoner of her inner self
In this work I represent the female figure as a metaphor for inner imprisonment. The body, though exposed and seemingly free, is gathered in a posture that suggests protection and withdrawal. The light, crossing the figure and tracing on the skin lines similar to bars, becomes a symbol of the invisible limits we often build within ourselves. The evasive gaze leads the viewer beyond physical appearance, toward a more intimate and psychological dimension: that of a woman prisoner not of a space, but of her own thoughts, her own fears and her vulnerability.

Biographical Extract
Francesco Stile was born in Naples in 1965, into a family tied to Neapolitan painting tradition. The mother and, in particular, the grandfather, vedutisti painters of city views, represent the first reference of a training deeply rooted in Italian figurative culture.
At thirteen he began attending the atelier of portraitist Carlo Roberto La Volpe, where he gained a solid technical formation, deepening drawing, oil painting, the study of light and the figure. Subsequently he opened his own studio and devoted himself to Falsi d’Autore, focusing his research on Seicento painting and the Caravaggesque tradition.
In 1997, the discovery of contemporary hyperrealism marked a decisive turning point in his path. Since then he has developed a research centered on hyperrealistic still life in oil on canvas, characterized by a rigorous attention to light, matter, surfaces and detail.
Over time, technical precision becomes for Stile a tool in the service of a broader research. The everyday object is stripped of its simple descriptive function and transformed into a metaphor of contemporary reality. From this evolution arises his personal concept of “hyperrealism conceptual,” in which fidelity to the real coexists with a symbolic and narrative dimension.
Throughout the years his artistic activity has been accompanied by various recognitions and awards, culminating in 2025 with participation in the London Art Biennale, where he presents Prospettiva, a work dedicated to the theme of migrations. For this work he receives the Chianciano Art Museum Award / Arts Club Chianciano Award, the latest recognition in a path studded with important attestations in the realm of contemporary painting.
Francesco Stile’s research today develops in the dialogue between tradition and contemporaneity, between technical rigor and thought, using painting as a tool to transform fragments of daily life into images capable of prompting the viewer."
