The Rolex 16760, also known as the "Fat Lady," is a highly regarded vintage GMT-Master II model that holds a special place in the hearts of watch collectors. Introduced in the mid-1980s, this model earned its nickname due to its thicker case, which housed the upgraded 3085 movement—allowing for independent adjustment of the hour hand, a groundbreaking feature at the time. One of the most sought-after variations of this timepiece features a "Tropical" black spider dial without "Date" word after "Perpetual". Over the years, the original black lacquer on these dials has undergone a fascinating metamorphosis due to exposure to UV light, developing unique and mesmerizing crackling patterns. This natural transformation, often referred to as "spidering," adds to the dial's charm and rarity, making each watch uniquely beautiful. Complementing this rare and visually intriguing dial is the iconic "Coke" bezel, characterized by its red and black color scheme. The bezel's vibrant contrast not only adds to the watch's aesthetic appeal but also serves as a functional feature for tracking a second time zone. We left the case and bracelet unpolished to preserve the collectible value of this rare timepiece. If the buyer wishes, we can do professional polishing at our expense. It will take two days.
