Here is "Darkness in Blue". The porthole—typically a functional and familiar element of maritime travel—is stripped of its narrative context and elevated to a subject of contemplation. Bathed in a cold, artificial blue light, it emerges from the wall like a silent portal: impenetrable, offering neither transparency nor reassurance.
Its dark, opaque surface reflects nothing; instead, it absorbs. In its absolute void, it invites the viewer to question what lies beyond—or what, perhaps, watches from within.
This simple and strong image evokes a sense of suspended stillness, tinged with quiet unease. Blue, often associated with calm and infinity, here becomes the stage for a mysterious threshold, evoking themes of journey not only through space, but inward through the self. The viewpoint is static, yet the tension is alive: it is the silence before something, or the eternity after.
