Jongedame met emmers, a 19th‑century oil painting from the United Kingdom, sold with frame.
Description from the seller
This nineteenth-century painting captures an everyday, yet poetic moment: a young woman with two milk pails walks calmly through a rolling, rural landscape. Her simple clothing and determined gait reflect the hard, honest farmer's life of that time. The hills embrace her as a timeless backdrop, where nature and human rhythm seem to live in harmony. The soft brushstrokes and warm colors evoke a sense of nostalgia – as if time stands still for a moment, exactly when morning dew still lies in the grass and the day has yet to begin.
Dimensions with frame: 127 x 107 cm
Dimensions without frame: 91 x 71 cm
The work is viewable in our gallery. Furthermore, Art Dumay offers a frame-making workshop (this year marks their 85th anniversary) and a restoration workshop. So if you would like to take advantage of this, we would of course be pleased to hear from you.
