Description from the seller
murky confusion
Ink, charcoal, ochre and clay on canvas
140 cm by 100 cm (55 inches by 39 inches)
濘惑 (Neiwaku) — a word of Japanese origin meaning “Mire of Illusion” — invites the viewer into a mysterious space where form and perception dissolve. Created by contemporary artist VITYRA, this large-format abstract ink painting plays with the dualities of earth and ether, sediment and spirit.
The composition flows with a primordial energy. Deep, absorbing blacks stretch across the canvas like heavy soil or fading memories. Ochre fissures and clay washes ripple through the darkness — like veins of minerals or forgotten trails — bringing a surreal warmth to the void. The painterly diffusion is both intentional and elemental: pigments are custom-mixed by the artist using ink, charcoal, ochre and clay, making every piece a truly unique alchemical object.
This contrast of natural materials with ambiguous, dreamlike forms is at the core of VITYRA’s work. In 濘惑, the sediment does not just settle — it speaks. It blurs the line between erosion and emotion, landform and landscape of mind. Painted on a 100% cotton canvas, the surface holds both power and fragility.
This original painting by VITYRA is discreetly hand-signed on the reverse side to preserve the purity of the artwork’s surface and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. VITYRA is represented by S-Gallery, a well-known gallery for Viennese boundary-pushing contemporary artists. The artwork will be shipped rolled in a secure, protective tube—an eco-friendly and safe method that reduces shipping costs and risk of damage. The canvas measures 140 x 100 cm, with an extra 5 cm border on each side for easy re-stretching. Frame placement is lightly marked on the back to assist precise mounting.
