Artist's statement:

This piece is an exploration of immersion, identity, and the tension between tradition and impermanence. I wanted to reflect how heritage, like the disciplined artistry of the geisha, and selfhood flow into one another, like ink diffusing through water. The figure becomes less a portrait than a vessel—at once grounded in cultural resonance and surrendered to the vastness that surrounds her. What interests me is not the person alone, but the quiet transformation that occurs when ritual, grace, and the fluidity of nature meet.

I’m Nik Haku, a visual artist and photographer exploring the space between the real and the altered.
My work spans portraiture and landscapes, starting from photography and evolving through AI and digital manipulation. I aim to create images that blur the line between memory, identity, and imagined space.
