Robert Doisneau (1912 - 1994) est certainement le photographe du XXe siècle dont les clichés ont le plus marqué les esprits, notamment ses photographies en noir et blanc de Paris et sa banlieue après-guerre. Il se trouve à son aise dans la rue qu’il transforme en surface sensible, en digne héritier d’Eugène Atget (1857-1927) dont il admire les images et leur « rusticité qui défie le temps ».
