Nobuyoshi Araki, commonly known as Araki, will turn 70 in May 2010.
He has also been a photographer for over 50 years.
Even while battling cancer, which was discovered in 2009, he has continued to produce a series of radical and controversial works.
At the same time, it is faces that Araki has passionately photographed.
He has stated that his career as a photographer "begins and ends with faces," and he continues to photograph faces today, such as through his "Faces of the Japanese" series.
While focusing on the theme of faces, Araki's discussion extends to his views on women, men, humanity, and life and death.
The photographer's deep interest in and thought about humanity is truly impressive.
