Rare fétiche de jumeaux ibedji de l'ethnie yoruba/yorouba du Nigéria. Ce fétiche a un corps stylisé, sans membres. Pourrait avoir été utilisée lors de rituel de féticheur.

Présenté nu debout sur son piédestal avec coiffe sommitale.
Bois, belle patine d'usage profonde.

Les Yorouba vivent entre le Nigéria et le Bénin, dans une région couverte de forêt et de savane. Le commerce des esclaves toucha fortement les population Yorouba et il contribua à la dissemination de leurs rites et de leurs croyances.
