The fourth release in the Ballantine’s Signature Distillery series features Glentauchers Distillery.

Nose: Milder and more fruity on the nose than the Glentauchers (the fourth release). Fine and well integrated - none of that alcohol sting to be found here. Cinnamon, cardamom and nuts. The nose really, really improves with a little time in the glass. The delightful, soft spicy notes that finally come through are well worth the wait.

Taste: Creamy and full-bodied. Quite spicy, almost tongue-numbingly so - black pepper corns and cinnamon. Dried fruits. Herbs as well - lots of green notes. Mint and tomato plant.

Finish: Medium to long finish. More minty and almost menthol like in character now. Remains creamy and "big" throughout. Overly sweet towards the end - a very floral honey note overwhelms.

Comment: Gentle, green, giant.
