A immaculate leaf from a damaged Qur'an from North India dating back to AD1700.  The scripture is from the Medinian Chapter 4, An-Nisa (Women), v.37-43 which describe God's views of those who are stingy, and of those who promote stinginess among people, and withhold Allah's bounties.  Likewise for those who spend their wealth to show off and do not believe in Allah or the Last Day. He implores people to be charitable. He reminds them in these verses that he never wrongs anyone if they believe and if they do good deeds. Indeed their reward will be repaid multiple times by his love and grace. However, for those who remain blind to God and who are nor charitable, he has prepared  a humiliating punishment on the day of judgement.

The leaf consists of three Surah headings in bold Muhaqqaq script and two blocks of scripture each of 6 lines in Muhaqqaq, which are flanked with wonderful elaborate gold floral arabesque columns. There are simple gold aya marking the verses and diacritical (devotional marks) in red guiding the reader. Each of the passages of scripture is framed with gold columns, while the whole is framed with a more complex series of five (5) frame lines consiting of black, gold, red and finally a dark blue line. A decorative marginal Juz marks the 40th verse of the Chapter. 

The condition is very good for its age and the colours still very vibrant.
