AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Original woodblock print, hand-signed by the artist - Paper - Hiroshi Yoshida (1876-1950) - Plum Gateway - Japan - 1935

First published in 1935.

The measurements of the image itself (excluding the margins) are 37.3 x 24.8 cm.

Hiroshi Yoshida (Yoshida Hiroshi, September 19, 1876 – April 5, 1950) was a 20th-century Japanese painter and woodblock printmaker. He is regarded as one of the greatest artists of the shin-hanga style, and is noted especially for his landscape prints.

The print is in fair state. The paper has yellowed, as can be seen at the outer edges where the paper has not yellowed, probably due to cover by a mat. There are a number of strong horizontal wrinkles in the lower part of the image, including loss of color and strong thinning of the paper to the right of the rightmost woman. There is a pinhole in the left margin and a number in pencil.

Will be shipped with great care in sturdy packaging to prevent folding.
