Description from the seller
This artwork was part of 197th Annual Exhibition (May-June 2023), Royal Scottish Academy of Art and Architecture.
This art photograph was created based on photography and digital techniques using painting textures, inspired by the lacquer art of Vietnam.
The lotus flower is regarded in many different (buddhist) cultures as a symbol of purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth. Its characteristics are a perfect analogy for the human condition: even when its roots are in the dirtiest waters, the lotus produces the most beautiful flower. Across Asia, many countries such as Vietnam, India embrace the lotus as the national flower and throughout history, the lotus flower has been a frequent presence in many forms of art such as paintings, architecture, and sculptures.
The original photograph was taken in Hanoi, Vietnam. It is part of my award-winning series The Lotus Lake. This series won Honorable Mentions at the International Photography Awards 2013 and was published in many art magazines and national news, including Vogue Italia, Widewalls, Vietnam News, El Economista etc. The series was exhibited in Paris, Madrid, Ducal Palace of Medinaceli (Spain), and especially at Saatchi Gallery in London, and auctioned by Christie's Hong Kong.
This specific photograph has been exhibited at Ducal Palace of Medinaceli (Spain) and in Milan and Naples (Italy).
Printed on Hahnemuhle German Etching 310 gsm. The photo is signed at the back and a certificate of authenticity will be included.
The package will be sent by UPS in a carton tube, and insured by the seller.
