Oil painting by the master Antonio Amorós y Botella (Alicante, 1849-Madrid, 1925). A Spanish painter who focused on genre scenes and landscapes, although he specialized in vases and still lifes, a facet in which he excelled due to his mastery of color and composition. He was a drawing professor at the School of Mahón and a professor at the Higher School of Arts and Industries of Madrid. Thanks to a pension granted by the Provincial Council of Málaga, he studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid, where he was a disciple of Enrique Jiménez. In 1879, he moved to Rome to further his training. He participated in the National Exhibitions of Fine Arts from the early 1880s and received a third medal at the 1887 edition. Among his solo exhibitions, notable are the one at the Ateneo of Alicante in 1894 and the retrospective of his work held in 1924 in his hometown.
This oil on wood depicts an idyllic fishing landscape scene dedicated to a friend in 1912. It is framed in gold wood and is in good condition.
