This photograph depicts the beauty of Diao Chan, one of the Four Beauties of ancient China whose beauty was described as: “Beauty which outshines the moon and shames the flowers“. This photograph is from the worldwide published series "Xian: Myths of the Beauties" by Viet Ha Tran, 2015 depicting the Four Beauties of Ancient China.

THE ARTIST:
Viet Ha Tran is a Vietnam-born contemporary artist and fine art photographer whose distinctive vision has led to prestigious collaborations with global institutions such as Amazon USA, Louis Vuitton France, and Vogue Italy. Her work has been featured in over 100 international publications, including Vogue, Vanity Fair France, The Times of India, Vietnam News, and leading Spanish media such as Expansión, El Economista, and El Adelantado.
She currently serves as Board Member at The Royal Photographic Society of Spain, where she made history as the first foreigner to hold such a position in the Society’s 125-year legacy. This role reflects her influence in shaping the direction of contemporary visual culture in Spain and beyond.
Formerly a Jury Member at the IE Foundation Prizes in the Humanities (IE University, Spain), Viet Ha has also worked as an Exhibition Manager and Curator, organizing cultural programs within the academic institution. She is a contributing art writer for IE Insight, the knowledge hub of IE University, and co-authored the book "Ideas to Shape the Future", with her article on “The Future of Creating, Collecting, and Curating Visual Arts.”
Her expertise extends beyond creation to thought leadership in the art market - having spoken at conferences for The Royal Photographic Society of Spain, IE University, and The Art Market Agency. She was named among “10 Women in the Art World to Follow” by Singulart Magazine.
In 2019, Viet Ha was honored as one of "200 Influential Vietnam Global Leaders" by the Vietnam Embassy in Spain and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In 2024, her debut art photography book “Like a Painting: Through the Eyes of the Soul” was published by Snap Collective (Denmark), and is now housed in the Royal Danish Library, Copenhagen.
Viet Ha Tran is selected as one of the Top 25 Artists to Collect in 2025 by Artsper, Europe's leading art marketplace. This recognition highlights artists whose work is set to make a significant impact in the coming year.
