Jean-Baptiste Antoine Marcelin Marbot, Baron de Marbot, born 18 August 1782 in Altillac and died 16 November 1854 in Paris, was a French military officer of the 19th century. He came from an old family of military nobility from Quercy that would produce three generals for France within less than fifty years. He pursued his career in the staffs of the French army under the First Empire, becoming lieutenant general under the July Monarchy. His Memoirs constitute a remarkable testimony to the Napoleonic era.
