AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Work taken from the book Picasso lithographe ,notice et catalogue ètablis par Fernand Mourlot 1947-1949.
Fernand Mourlot grew up in the family print shop, but it wasn't until he took over in the early 1920s that he would forever change the fabric of printing. His influence fostered a revival of lithography, revealing it as a new avenue of expression and a new realm of possibilities for artists such as Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Marc Chagall, Joan Miró, Georges Braque, Fernand Léger, and Alberto Giacometti to enrich their work and art in general. Fernand cultivated lithography as a medium for painters, and the family studio on Rue Chabrol became a hub where artists were invited to work directly on stone, as if creating a manifesto. Fernand retired in the mid-1970s, but his name remains synonymous with the revival of lithography to this day.
