Description from the seller
Martín Dasa – White Port – Douro Valley, Portugal (12 bottles)
A beautifully crafted White Port from the heart of Portugal’s Douro Valley — a region where sun, schist soils, and centuries of tradition come together. Martín Dasa White Port blends freshness, richness, and subtle sweetness in perfect harmony, offering a modern take on one of Portugal’s most historic wine styles.
Vineyards & Winemaking
Produced from a careful selection of indigenous white grape varieties — including Malvasia Fina, Rabigato, Viosinho, and Gouveio — grown on steep Douro terraces overlooking the river. After gentle pressing, fermentation is halted with the addition of fine grape spirit (aguardente vínica) to preserve natural sweetness. The wine is then aged in seasoned oak casks in the cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia, allowing oxidation and slow integration of flavours.
Aging
Aged for 3 to 4 years in oak barrels, developing layers of honey, almond, and citrus while maintaining a bright, refreshing core. The aging process softens the spirit and enriches the texture, resulting in a perfectly balanced White Port — both lively and complex.
Tasting Notes
Brilliant golden colour with amber highlights. Aromas of dried apricot, orange peel, and honeyed nuts unfold alongside subtle floral and vanilla tones. On the palate, it’s smooth and elegant — gently sweet but lifted by crisp acidity. Notes of candied citrus, almond, and spice linger through a long, warming finish.
Food Pairing
Serve chilled (8–10 °C) as an aperitif, or pair with salted almonds, soft cheeses, foie gras, or fruit-based desserts. Also excellent in cocktails, such as a White Port & Tonic with fresh mint and lime.
Drinking Window
Ready to enjoy now; will remain vibrant for several years if well stored.
In Short
Martín Dasa White Port is a modern expression of tradition — luminous, balanced, and effortlessly elegant. A fresh, golden glimpse into the soul of the Douro Valley, crafted to be savoured on its own or shared in good company.
