Sheaffer Imperial Touchdown fountain pen, with a black high-gloss resin body and gold-plated cap, 14K solid gold nib, made in the United States in the 1960s–1970s, in good used condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
Exceptional Sheaffer Imperial Touchdown fountain pen, manufactured in the United States during the 1960s–1970s, an outstanding example of American engineering in its golden era.
The body, made of high-gloss black resin, is in excellent condition, with no cracks, fissures, or discolorations. It features a uniform polished surface and a silky touch characteristic of well-preserved models.
The gold cap, with fine vertical linear engraving, retains its original satin sheen and a warm, uniform tone, showing only slight micro marks from light use and the passage of time. The clip, with the distinctive 'White Dot,' remains perfectly firm and aligned.
The nib embedded in solid 14K gold, engraved with SHEAFFER 14K USA, is in impeccable condition: without wear, perfectly aligned, and with smooth, flowing, and precise writing, with a medium (M) stroke.
The Touchdown loading system — a pneumatic mechanical system patented by Sheaffer — has been tested and functions correctly, ensuring excellent ink suction and optimal sealing.
Overall, the pen is in outstanding condition, with original materials, legible engravings, and full functionality.
A classic, elegant, and functional piece, worthy of any vintage pen collection or refined professional use.
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
