Sheaffer Triumph fountain pen, made in the United States, in striped brown and black cellulose, gold‑plated cap, 14K gold nib, 131 mm long and 11.3 mm in diameter, in good used condition with minor signs of wear and fully in working order.
Description from the seller
This elegant Sheaffer Triumph, in brown and black striated celluloid, is in overall very good condition, standing out for the intense shine of the celluloid, the clarity of the engravings, and the excellent condition of the iconic Triumph nib made of 14K gold. It is a representative example of high American craftsmanship from the 1940s, especially appreciated by collectors and vintage writing enthusiasts.
The celluloid body exhibits a deep, uniform shine, with well-defined veins and no signs of discoloration or contraction. No cracks or structural damages are observed; only light micro-scratches typical of normal use and entirely expected for an item of its era.
The gold-plated cap maintains a very good overall appearance, with fine and uniform vertical engraving. The gilding retains a warm and solid tone. It is important to note that it has a visible mark on the cap area, which does not affect the integrity of the piece or its functionality, but should be mentioned as part of the honest condition report. This mark is superficial and does not compromise the metal's solidity or the cap's closure.
The clip, also gold, remains firm, well aligned, and without play. The classic White Dot of Sheaffer is present on the crown of the cap, indicating its premium category.
The 14-karat gold Triumph nib is in excellent condition: shiny, without deformations, and with the engravings completely clear. The gavilans are perfectly aligned, indicating careful use. This nib, widely recognized for its smoothness and performance, continues to provide a smooth and quiet writing experience.
The feeder is in magnificent condition, with its fins clean and well-defined, a sign of good internal preservation.
Overall, this Sheaffer Triumph stands out for its authenticity, its attractive celluloid, and the impeccable condition of its nib. The mark present on the cap does not affect its functionality and is merely a minimal aesthetic consideration, common in pieces over 70 years old. It is a highly collectible fountain pen, ideal both for an enthusiast seeking a genuine Triumph in very good condition and for a user wishing to enjoy an exceptional vintage writing experience.
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
