Description from the seller
Old violin by Julius Heinrich Zimmermann - J.H.Z, built circa 1880. The Julius Heinrich Zimmermann, hailing from Sternberg, established his successful workshops at the end of the 19th century; after Leipzig, he was also known in Petersburg, Moscow and Riga as a court supplier to the Russian Tsar’s household.

The violin is approximately 50 cm long and 19 cm wide.
The bow is 63 cm long.

As 'certified' or 'attributed' violins and bows described as such include pictures of their certificates and therefore indicate a higher degree of documented certainty regarding maker, origin and age than instruments described only as 'labeled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we make no warranty.
