AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Old violin by Julius Heinrich Zimmermann - J.H.Z, built around 1880. Julius Heinrich Zimmermann, originally from Sternberg, established his successful workshops in Leipzig at the end of the 19th century, and also in Petersburg, Moscow, and Riga, known as a supplier to the Russian Imperial Court.

Based on the inscription inside the violin, this violin can be dated to the end of the 19th century, as the maker used a different marking at the beginning of 1900.

The violin bow is also finely crafted, with real horsehair and mother-of-pearl inlays.

The violin is approximately 50cm long and 19cm wide.
The violin bow is 63cm long.

Condition see the images, they are part of the description.

Violins and bows described as 'certified' or 'attributed' include images of their certificates and therefore have a higher degree of documented certainty regarding maker, origin and age than instruments described only as 'labeled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we offer no guarantee whatsoever.
