No competition, no doubt: best guitarplayer ever is the one and only Jimi. After his death, hundreds of records were released, but his main real work consists of three studio albums. Here on offer in a special remastered rerelease along with three other discs.

All are in wonderful condition. Five of them form a series, made by Polydor in 1993 after his induction in the rock ‘n roll Hall of Fame. They feature 24-page booklets with an unbelievable insight in the history of the record and, really, nine Jimi-stamps in each case. The discs are picture discs. All lovingly collected by his own record label, instead of all those shady releases from obscure companies.

1. Are you experienced? The debut of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, recorded after first blowing all of England away with their gigs and releasing three singles. These (Hey Joe, Stone free, Purple haze) are also included on this disc. It did not reach nr 1, that spot was taken by Sgt Pepper…

2. Axis bold as love. Released the same year, after playing Monterey (where he famously lit his guitar on fire). It could even have been released sooner, had Jimi not lost the tape in a taxi. The album is recognizable by its extensive use of stereo effects.

3. Electric ladyland. Regrettably his last album. He recorded it in New York, inviting all of his friends which caused Noel Redding to leave. No worries, Jimi plays bass on most tracks.
