Description from the seller
Collage on a wooden board with oil paint and charcoal.
Artist: Enric Irueste, born in the Pyrenees (Jaca, Huesca) in 1952.
He has been living in Mallorca since 1954.
In 1972, he met Sandy Calder and repainted his mobiles for the exhibition at Sala Pelaires (Palma de Mallorca), where they were presented for the first time in Spain.
In 1973 and for ten years, he created graphic work (silkscreens) at Sala Pelaires, including works by Joan Miró, J. Guinovart, A. Saura, and many others.
In 1975, he wins the first prize at the 'PINTURA JOVE JOAN MIRÓ' competition.
For 35 years, he has been painting romantic landscapes, following the landscape tradition of Mediterranean painters in a more personal style.
Simultaneously, works are created with natural elements, woods, stones, and 'found objects': visual poems, collages, small sculptures, still lifes on fabrics and sewn sacks, and mobiles.
Her characteristic is a multidisciplinary personality with the ability to develop various, very different creative lines simultaneously.
