Description:
Very expressive ceramic sculpture in a clear Appel / Corneille style, with strong references to the spontaneous and colorful visual language of the Cobra movement. The work depicts a imaginative figure with large eyes, twisted horns, and bold color fields that playfully blend into each other. The freeform design, thick outlines, and intuitive modeling give the sculpture a striking liveliness.
This piece comes from Atelier0053 and was created by Kees de Man; it was an official submission for the Cobra Museum Amstelveen competition in 2013. A unique atelier piece with a clear art historical link. All of Kees de Man's work is in this Neo Cobra style.
Condition:
In very good condition. No chips or damage, glaze fresh and shiny.
