Delta Adolphe Sax Limited Edition fountain pen, with a black high gloss resin body and 925 silver parts plated in gold, a solid 18 carat gold nib, and serial number 452/814, in excellent working order with its original limited case and documentation.
Description from the seller
The Delta Adolphe Sax – Limited Edition, inspired by the renowned inventor of the saxophone, is in excellent condition both aesthetically and functionally. This piece, equipped with the traditional lever-loading system, exhibits a firm, intact, and fully operational mechanism. The lever shows appropriate resistance and no looseness, indicating a well-preserved mechanism that has been little used.
The body made of high-gloss black resin maintains a deep, uniform finish without significant marks. It shows no cracks, chipping, or deformations. The metal components in 925 silver plated with gold, including the large decorative hoop and the upper elements, retain most of their original luster, with minimal natural aging that enhances their artisanal character. The engravings—including Adolphe Sax's signature, serial number 452/814, and official marks—remain clear, sharp, and perfectly defined.
The nib, made of solid 18-karat gold (750), is in excellent condition: clean, with the hoods aligned, showing no signs of misalignment, deformation, or wear. The feeder displays complete and uniform fins, which ensures a steady flow suitable for fine writing instruments.
It comes with its original limited edition case, lined with red velvet, which retains its shape and functionality. It shows superficial wear on the outer edges — consistent with its age — but the interior continues to protect the piece adequately. It includes the original Delta documentation and its inkwell with a commemorative label.
Overall, this fountain pen is a highly collectible piece, very well preserved, with a fully functional mechanism and intact aesthetics. It is an exceptional item for both fine writing collectors and enthusiasts of musical design history.
