Stilleven, an oil painting from the 1970s (Period 1970-1980), made in the Netherlands, sold with frame.
Description from the seller
This still life depicts a careful composition of everyday objects that together evoke a sense of calm and reflection. On the table, there is an elegant earthenware jug with blue decoration, a few pipes, a matchbox, and a thick book with a leather binding. The artist plays with light and shadow to convincingly bring the materials—earthenware, wood, leather, and paper—to life.
The work breathes the spirit of the seventeenth-century Dutch tradition, in which still life symbolized attention and transience. The subdued colors and precise brushwork demonstrate both craftsmanship and understated beauty. This painting is a tribute to the simplicity of everyday life, where each object is depicted with care and dignity.
Dimensions with frame: 68 x 78 cm
Dimensions without a frame: 41 x 51 cm
The work is available for viewing at our gallery. Furthermore, Art Dumay has a framing shop (celebrating their 85th anniversary this year) and a restoration studio. If you wish to make use of these services, we would be happy to hear from you.
