Amita Dand - Rising Lord Buddha

I created this piece as an exploration of stillness, light, and inner harmony. I wanted the Buddha’s face to feel as if it were emerging from a dreamlike space—soft, radiant, and untouched by the noise of the world. The colors are intentionally bold yet soothing: layers of turquoise, gold, emerald, and warm sunset hues blend into one another to evoke a sense of peace and renewal.

The gentle swirl at the center of the forehead symbolizes a quiet awakening, while the closed eyes and soft smile reflect a moment of pure, quiet joy. I painted the lotuses at the bottom to anchor the composition in nature—each bloom representing clarity rising from life’s uncertainties.

This work is very close to my heart. It’s meant to bring a sense of serenity and optimism into a room, while also offering a vibrant contemporary aesthetic. My hope is that it speaks to you who appreciate color-rich spiritual art that carries both emotion and modern elegance.


Painting is protected with a thin layer of gloss varnish. A margin of approximately 2 inches is left around the painting for stretching and framing purposes.
