Description from the seller
Æ (XX–XXI) – “Ghost in the Shell: Neural Awakening” (Triptych X3) – Hand-painted, signed, numbered, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity
Æ’s monochrome triptych delves into the universe of Ghost in the Shell, portraying the Major as a sentient bridge between human intuition and machine logic. With intricate mezzotint textures and high-contrast linework, the series explores the fragile threshold where code becomes consciousness. Each panel reflects a different phase of awakening — from tactical precision to emotional emergence — capturing the poetic dissonance of cybernetic existence. The result is a meditation on identity, memory, and the quiet pulse of life within the digital void.
•Total Size: 37 x 66 cm (each artwork: 37 x 22 cm).
• Medium: Original ink-style compositions, hand-painted with spray paint and pastel crayons.
• Signature & Edition: Each piece is hand-signed, hand-numbered, and authenticated with a holographic seal of authenticity on an included certificate card.
• Materials: Acid-free Hahnemühle rice paper, traditionally used for Sumi-e (Japanese ink painting), ensuring exceptional archival quality.
• Edition: Limited to 10 unique variations, authorized and registered with the artist’s official catalog ID.
About the Artist:
Æ, a Barcelona-based artist and designer, earned degrees in Digital Design and Multimedia Technologies (2004) and East Asian Studies. Fascinated by digital mediums from an early age, Æ developed a distinct aesthetic influenced by minimalism, conceptual art, and skateboard graphics.
His works are held in private collections across over 30 countries, including The Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Æ’s pieces have also been acquired by prestigious public collections, such as the Oriental Art Collection at the Zaragoza Museum (2024), which houses Spain’s most significant Eastern art archive.
Æ’s art is renowned for its minimalist approach, using a restrained palette and high-contrast imagery to evoke powerful emotions and explore themes like isolation, duality, and timelessness. His signature style incorporates stark contrasts, East Asian symbols, and iconic cultural imagery, compelling viewers to confront profound ideas with minimal visuals.
Critical Acclaim:
Thierry Fournier of Artnoises praised Æ’s work, describing it as:
“A transgression of borders, merging the DNA of civilization’s past and future. Æ creates a ticket for emotional teleportation—a minimalist aesthetic that propels us into a rich, timeless void filled with unexplored signs and symbols.”
