Author photographer, Franck Pourcel lives in Marseille. He questions the relationships that humans have with their territory. His photographic work, in black and white or color, combines a documentary perspective with contemporary artistic creation. His photographs are regularly exhibited in France and abroad. They have been included in the collections of the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the Maison européenne de la photographie, the Fonds régional d’art contemporain (Frac) Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, the Archives départementales des Bouches-du-Rhône, the Centre méditerranéen de la Photographie in Bastia, the Musée de la Camargue, the Muséon Arlaten, among others, and are also part of private collections.
Franck Pourcel has been the recipient of several awards and has received various grants to support publishing, creation, and research, such as the scholarship from the mission of ethnological heritage of the Ministry of Culture.
He is the author of numerous books published by Le Bec en l’air, including notably 'Like a Dust Breath' (2015); 'Ulysses or the Constellations,' text by Gilles Mora (2013); 'At Dusk' (2009); 'You Who Kill Time,' text by Jean-Pierre Ostende (2006); 'The Little Sea of the Forgotten. Mediterranean Paradox Lake Berre,' text by Jean-Louis Fabiani (2006); 'Neo-Rurals, Living Differently,' texts by Anne Attané and Katrin Langewiesche (2004).
