The oldest Italian manufacturer of writing instruments, Montegrappa, have created a limited edition collection dedicated to two of the most important dates in Bulgarian history, celebrated in September:

6 September 1885 – The Unification of Eastern Rumelia with the Principality of Bulgaria
22 September 1908 – Proclamation of the Independence of Bulgaria

To commemorate these historic events, a limited collection of silver writing instruments was produced, featuring a unique engraving of the coat of arms of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom, closely resembling the current coat of arms of the Republic of Bulgaria. In the center of the emblem is a crowned lion on a shield, flanked by two other lions holding the shield. At the bottom of the coat of arms is the national motto “Unity Makes Strength”, which also appears separately as an inscription on the cap of each writing instrument, just below the emblem.

Only 50 writing instruments were made: 20 fountain pens, 20 rollerballs, and 10 ballpoint pens.
