Tea caddy/ box - Porcelain - Kangxi (1662-1722)
Lovely blue and white oval-shaped tea caddy made in Jingdezhen during the Kangxi period (1662-1722). The tea caddy is decorated with two Long Elizas playing Go. The lid features a playing boy. The underside is marked with an Artemis leaf. The silver mounting is a later Dutch addition. The mounting is marked with a sword and LC8, the maker's mark of Lieshout & Co. from Amsterdam, used between 1876-1890.
Condition: very good, minor wear and glaze flaws from production (see photos).
Origin: private Dutch collection, purchased at PAN Amsterdam.
Dimensions: 10 cm (height) x 3 cm (ø foot).
