JAYBIRD

JAYBIRD was a legendary American nudist magazine of the 1960s and early 1970s. It was published in California.

The magazine, which only existed for eight years, became famous through the book "Naked as a Jaybird," published by Taschen Verlag in Cologne in 2003. Dian Hanson was the editor.

All the leading American nudist photographers of the time worked for Jaybird, including Ed Lange, Iris Bancroft, Edmund Leja, Leif Heilberg, Keith Heilberg, Michael Leonard, and Ken Price. They were required to refrain from using their names as photographers in the magazine. Jaybird established itself as a name synonymous with high-quality photography published in each issue.

The vintage photographs are very rare and fetch high prices in the USA.
