Description from the seller
Montblanc Writers Edition William Faulkner
The Montblanc Writers Edition of 2007 pays homage to one of the greatest American authors, William Faulkner.
Born in 1897 in Mississippi, Faulkner came from an established Southern family and used his imagination to create an entire fictional region that became the backdrop for many of his novels. More than twelve of his works are set in Yoknapatawpha County, a place he invented and situated in Mississippi.
In works such as The Sound and the Fury and Light in August, Faulkner looked behind the genteel façade of the American South to reveal the intimate family dramas and the moral decline that lay beneath.
A true innovator of modern literature, Faulkner, much like James Joyce and Virginia Woolf, experimented with new narrative techniques — stream of consciousness, intertwined storylines, and daring shifts in time and perspective. These innovations established him as a pioneer of modern American fiction.
By 1950, having already received two Pulitzer Prizes, Faulkner was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature “for his powerful and artistically unique contribution to modern American literature.”
The Montblanc William Faulkner writing instruments embody this creative tension through the use of two contrasting materials, reflecting the atmosphere of the American South during Faulkner’s life. The barrels combine platinum-plated metal with a ribbed design and dark green resin of a smooth, elegant texture.
This limited edition collection includes 16,000 numbered fountain pens, 18,000 numbered ballpoint pens, and 4,000 numbered mechanical pencils. In addition, Montblanc produced 4,000 complete sets containing all three instruments.
This auction is for the ballpoint only without any original box or papers.
Will be shipped worlwide with tracking number.
