Carlo Trevisan presents California House, an original oil on canvas (46×46 cm) in the Pop Art style, signed by hand, from 2025, sold with a white wooden frame, in excellent condition, depicting pop culture with a modernist Californian façade.
Description from the seller
This painting is part of the 'Before Bigger Splash' series by the artist Carlo Trevian. This oil on canvas titled 'California House' depicts a swimming pool next to a Californian house. It is a tribute to the famous pop art painting by the English artist David Hockney, which, however, features a large jet of water created by the diver, a few seconds after Trevisan's painting. In the painting, we see a pool with a building in the background featuring 1960s modernist architecture, typical of Californian homes. The colors used are deliberately uniform and bold to emphasize the strong Californian light and give the painting a pop art version. Between the sky and water, a strip of flesh-colored land marks the horizon and the space between the pool and the building. The building's architecture is represented by a rectangular block with three windows. Three palms with long, slender trunks adorn the background on the left, while others are reflected in the building's windows.
A row of low green vegetation decorates the facade.
Oil painting on canvas with a white wooden frame and matte, with final dimensions of 46x46x3 cm.
Signed on the front and authenticated on the back.
