A 19th‑century Dubois & Casse aneroid marine barometer, circa 1860–1865, crafted in solid brass, with a 12.5 cm diameter and 5 cm depth, weighing 700 g and featuring original glass in good condition with minor signs of aging.
Description from the seller
Dubois & Casse, Barometer
Circa 1860-1865 France
Very beautiful and authentic 19th-century
Aneroid ship's barometer by Dubois & Casse, made in heavy solid brass. This is a high-quality early Vidie-type instrument, recognizable by its solid construction, original parts, and the clear manufacturer’s stamp on the back: DC encircling an anchor (the mark of Dubois & Casse). (Small dent on the edge at the rear, barely visible). The white dial shows some signs of age. Its operation is not entirely clear, sometimes working, sometimes not. It may need to be checked.
