Japanese porcelain Shisa Shi Shi Dog Lion Dog Guardians from the Shōwa period (1926–1989) by Okinawa Figurine, 20 cm high, 21 cm wide, 13 cm deep, in good condition and 100% authentic.

There are pain and stains due to aged deterioration, but no problem with functionality.

"Seaser" in Okinawa Prefecture
Okinawa has its own culture even in Japan.
There is a figurine called "Sisa" that invites good luck and avoids disasters.
What you have an open mouth brings good luck with a male. The ones with their mouths closed are women, preventing disaster.
They are most often seen as lion-like or dog-like figures placed on rooftops or at the gates of homes and buildings.
Put a pair of males and females.
