Sophie Taeuber-Arp (1889–1943) was a Swiss multidisciplinary artist and one of the pioneers of modern abstract art. Trained in textiles and design, she worked across painting, sculpture, architecture, dance, and theater, effortlessly blending applied arts with fine arts. Her work is known for its bold geometric shapes, vibrant colors, and a unique balance between precision and playfulness.

She was closely connected to the Dada movement in Zurich and later became an important figure in Constructivism and geometric abstraction. Although underrecognized during her lifetime, Taeuber-Arp is now celebrated as one of the most innovative and influential artists of the 20th century, with her work featured in major museums worldwide.
