【Product details】

This 4-panel folding screen presents refined landscapes in the traditional style, hand-painted on silk. Each panel is inscribed with poetic titles and signed by Sekizan, with accompanying red seals.

From the left panel, the inscriptions read: 寒山谷峯 (Cold Mountain Valleys and Peaks), 南山秋色 (Autumn Scenery of the Southern Mountains), 己酉江水夏日 (Summer Day by the River in the Year of the Rooster), and 寿刻鳥語 己酉吉日 (Longevity Carved Amid Birdsong – Auspicious Day in the Year of the Rooster). These inscriptions evoke seasonal transitions and the timeless beauty of mountains, rivers, and pavilions nestled in nature.

Each scene is delicately rendered with soft ink washes and colour, showing layered peaks, autumn trees, rustic pavilions, and distant sailing boats, embodying the literati tradition of retreat and contemplation.

The surface shows wear from age, including scuffs, stains, foxing, and discolouration to the silk. The wooden frames display small chips, lacquer loss, abrasions, and the brocade fabric has areas of fading and stains. There is also a small hole visible on the back fabric. Please refer to the photos for details of condition.

Note: Due to size regulations, this item cannot be shipped to SPAIN, GERMANY and DENMARK. We ask residents there to please refrain from bidding.
