Early XXth Century Richelieu bed linen with D.R. inititals - Textile - 3.4 m - 2.35 m

A striking and magnificent Richelieu bed linen with D.R. initials.
These bed linen would have been especially ordered as widths of over
2 m. and particularly in Richelieu Design would not have been available in the early 20th Century.
This bed linen will deck a bed up to 1m80 ,but also 2 m. with a surplus of 35cm.
The initials R.D. sitting in an oval medallion in the centre.
The very generous Richelieu scallops run all along the top, but continue also
83cm at the sides.
The quality is superb and none of the scallops have been damaged.
This was not always the case.
Jewellery would not always have been removed and often damaged the fine
Richelieu embroidery.

This bed linen came straight out of the armoire and will need refreshing before decking the bed.
